Importing Your Data From

Church Windows into Breeze

Exporting Data from Church Windows

Exporting People: 1st Method

  1. Within Church Windows, navigate to "Membership" > "Reports" > "Directory" > "Export"
    • Print Membership Reports Window
      1. People Tab:
        1. Select a membership field, choose "Individual #"
        2. Make selections, "Is not Blank"
        3. Click "+ Selection" Button
        4. Check "Members", "Visitors", and "Terminated/Inactive" (if desired)
      2. Click "Next" button (bottom of the screen)

      1. Options Tab
        1. Select "Mail Merge/Export"
        2. Click "+" Button to add report. Name it "Breeze_People"
        3. Click "Select Fields" button. Select All fields
      2. Export Options Section
        1. For File, click the "..." button and select the location of the export file
        2. i.e. C:\Temp\Breeze People.csv
        3. Select "Comma" as the Delimiter
        4. Check "Include year on Birth Date"
        5. Enter in "Breeze People" in to the "Export Name" field.
      3. Click "Export" button (bottom of the screen)

Exporting People: 2nd Method

  1. Within Church Windows, navigate to "Membership"
  2. Click "Contact List" button. It's located at the bottom right corner of the window.
  3. In the Contact List Window click the "Print" button. It's located in the top row of buttons
  4. Report format Window
    1. Select "Mail Merge/Export"
    2. Check "Include year on Birth Date"
    3. Click "New +" Button
      1. Mail Merge/Export Window
      2. Title: Breeze_People
      3. File Name: c:\temp\breeze_people
      4. Separate fields with: {Comma} ()
      5. Uncheck "include at end of record"
      6. Select the fields to import, click "Add all >>" button to get everything
      7. Click "OK" button
  5. Click "Next" Button
  6. When the preview of the report appears the export file has been created at the identified location.

Exporting Dontaions

  1. Within Church Windows, navigate to "Donations" > "Reports/Export" > "Donation Reports" > " Donations Log Report"
  2. Donations Log Report Window
    1. Filter Tab: Set Date Range
    2. Column Tab: Set Columns & Suppression
      1. Select these Columns:
        1. Trans #
        2. Donation Date
        3. Batch Code
        4. Check #
        5. Account
        6. Amount
        7. Account ID
        8. Account Name
        9. Pymt. Method
        10. Line Item Comments
        11. Giver Name
        12. Giver #
      2. check "Suppress repeating transaction data"
      3. Click "Print" Button
    3. Preview Window
      1. Click the disk icon (Export Docuemnt)
      2. Select "Excel Document"
      3. Save it

Exporting Contributions

  1. Set the Year
    1. Within Church Windows, navigate to "Contributions" > "Special Functions" > "Contribution Profile" > "Change Date"
    2. Select the year
  2. Create PDF
    1. Within Church Windows, navigate to "Contributions" > "Reports" > "Log Report"
    2. Click "Select Printer" button
    3. Select "PDF" if possible, if not available select "XPS"
    4. Click "Next" button
    5. Click "Print All" button
    6. Save PDF
    You can only save one year at a time, repeat steps 1 and 2 for each year you want to export.

Importing Data into Breeze

  1. Sign in to your Breeze Account
  2. Click the More tab in the top right
  3. Click Tasks from the dropdown
  4. Click the category on the left that you'd like to import (e.g. People, Giving, Tags, etc)
  5. Download and open the template file
  6. Remove the sample data and populate the template file by copy/pasting applicable columns from your Church Windows exported file(s). Be sure to keep the first row of the template file intact.
  7. Save file as a .csv file type.
  8. When finished, use the same screen to upload your file to complete the import
